Live In Care You Can Trust

The usual shift pattern is many weeks at a time with one member of staff constantly. The staff member will then inform the office that they’d like to take a break and give us a minimum of two weeks’ notice. The office staff then look at who has been before and read the feedback on file about them and then look to see if they are available to return at this point, we contact the client/ relative to see how they feel about them returning.

If no one who has previously been is available we would find an alternative care worker and inform the client/ relative, providing some background about them. In addition, we always have immediately available staff on stand by for staff emergencies or illnesses, which we also inform you of any such changes.

When the first staff member is leaving the relief care worker will arrive and handover takes place involving routines, medications, the client notes folder, any upcoming appointments and important phone numbers etc. For more complex clients or those who can become anxious and the thought of ‘someone new’ then we offer an over night handover where the relief staff member arrives the day before to shadow the care worker who is leaving, this reduces stress for the client and allows for a more detailed handover. We do not charge extra for this and we are one of the few agencies to offer this.

As part of our live in care service, staff manage light housekeeping to keep your home clean, safe and pleasant. This can include vacuuming, dusting, dishes, laundry, changing bed linens, and general tidying. They may also run errands such as shopping or collecting prescriptions when needed.
